HOW TO STYLE A FISHTAIL BRAID

We love the look of fishtail braids! This trend is incredibly easy to style, even on your own hair. Kinsey and I photographed the steps so you can try it out for yourself...

Here's how to style a fishtail braid... 1. Part your hair into two even sections. 2. Take a small strand of hair (preferably from underneath so that it wraps around the entire seciton) from one section and bring it over to the other side. Make sure your strands of hair aren't too large, or it will look more like a regular braid! 3. Do the same thing with the other section. 4. Repeat steps 2 & 3 until the braid is finished. 5. To make your braid a little more full looking, lighting tug the edges of the braid to widen it.

Next, we had a crazy idea... weave pieces of yarn into the braid? FUN!

1. Tie yarn to one layer of hair at the root. We teased the roots a little bit to help the yarn stay. 2. Braid the pieces in with the same technique as seen above. Be sure to vary the colors of yarn. 3. Trim pieces of yarn and tie off with yarn.

HOW TO STYLE A TOP KNOT

We love a pretty top knot! This is a great hair style for those warm summer months since it's a stylish way to keep your hair up and off your neck and shoulders. We love how top knots can be styled to look casual for a day out shopping or more polished for an office day. Sarahdemonstrates how to get the perfect amount of body for a top knot on our model Kinsey.1. Gather your hair into a high pony tail at the top of your head. 2. Use a comb to brush down and through your hair, teasing it. 3. If you have thin or fine hair be sure to tease as many strands of your pony tail as you can. This is what gives the bun volume and body. 4. Twist your hair around your hand and pony tail base. 5. Pull the end of your hair through, this puts the knot in top knot! :) 6. Tease and style your top knot and, if needed, spray on a little hair spray to finish.You can change up the look of your top knot by leaving bangs our strands of hair out before you begin, or by adding a scarf or ribbon to the base. Dress it up however you like to show off your style! xo.

MAKE YOUR OWN SCULPTURAL HAND DISH

I can't always afford to buy the things I want, but I can sometimes make them, right? Recently I saw this quirky little hand dish that I loved, but I had to gasp at the enormous price tag. When I saw Kelly Wearstler's fabulous name on it, things began to add up. Well, the dollars began to add up, that is. It's sold out now, so I figured making my own was fair game.

This sculptural hand dish is the perfect size for catching keys or cash on a console table, and jewelry or trinkets on your dresser. It's easy to make, and a thoughtful handmade gift idea!Supplies:- Clay (I used air-dry, low-shrink clay that I found at the craft store for a few dollars.)
- Rolling pin
- Craft blade
- Pencil
- Paint brush
- Scissors
- Scrap paper
- Liquid gold leafing in the metal tone of your choice
- Small, shallow bowl (not pictured above)
- Foil or parchment paper for rolling out the clayStep One: Trace around your hand, keeping your fingers together and letting your thumb rest naturally. Extend the edge of the outline on the pinky-finger side of your hand, because you will need a wider shape than your natural hand in order to form a bowl. (See the exaggerated edge of the hand I drew in picture 2.)

Step Two: Cut out the outline of the hand that you drew on the paper.Step Three: Roll out your clay to be about 1/8" thick. It doesn't need to be exactly uniform in thickness. Use foil or parchment paper in-between the clay and the work surface.Step Four: Lay the paper hand template onto the clay and carefully cut around it with a craft blade. Then remove the scrap clay from around the hand as well as the paper hand template.

Step Five: Peel the clay hand from the foil or paper and flip it upside down. The side that touched the foil or paper originally should have a nice texture. Use the pencil on the nicely-textured side of the hand to create indents between the "fingers" of the clay.Step Six: Peel off the parchment paper or foil from the clay once again and place the clay hand inside of a small, shallow bowl, pressing the hand gently into the bowl.

Step Seven: After the clay has begun to harden for a few hours, but not so much that you can't reshape it a bit, remove the hand from inside the bowl and place it upside-down on the bottom of the overturned bowl, as shown in image 7. Press onto the backside of the hand (which is now facing upwards) with a flat object like a book. This will ensure the dish is stable once it's put into action. Letting the clay dry upside-down will also ensure that the edges won't crack as the clay shrinks during the drying process.Step Eight: Paint the bowl with the liquid gold leafing. A little bit goes a long way! I used Martha Stewart's liquid gold leafing and was able to clean my brush thoroughly after working at it for a while with dish soap.

Step Nine: Let the liquid gold leafing dry completely before step ten. Enjoy the beauty of what you've created so far, or go make a pot of coffee!Step Ten: Wipe or brush the gold dish with a light coat of black acrylic paint. Don't allow the paint to dry before the next step.

Step Eleven: Quickly wipe away the black paint before it dries. I wiped mine with a wet paper towel, and then again with a damp paper towel. As you wipe away the black paint, you'll notice that it remains in the little crevices of the textural surface, leaving behind a nice patina. If any areas are too black for your liking, or if you rubbed off any of the gold leaf paint in the wiping process, simply brush on more of the gold paint. A friend of mine suggested shoe polish to add patina, but I didn't have any, so I just used the black paint. The acrylic paint works quite nicely, and I won't have to worry about it rubbing off during use.

HOW TO STYLE A LOW BUN

It's the perfect season for easy and elegant up-dos. Maybe you are getting your outfit together for a friends wedding or for your senior prom. Here's a simple style for a cute low bun, you could dress this up with little flower blooms or ribbon!

1. Seperate a few thick strands from the top of your head (where your part naturally ends) and tease them by brushing the hair up toward your head. 2. Pull your hair down, styling it into a low pony tail. 3. Fluff up the teased part of your hair. 4. Now that you have a volumnious low pony tail use a hair tie to keep it in place. 5. Seperate the hair of your pony tail in half, tease the upper half. 6. Use the lower half (the unteased hair) and flip over the top or your teased bun. 7. Wrap hair around the base of your bun and pin it in place. 8. Style any loose strands.

Jadi Korban Bullying Saat Kecil, Si Culun Ini Kini Top Model

Ini adalah kisah singkat seorang itik buruk rupa yang berubah menjadi angsa, namun bedanya terjadi di kehidupan nyata. Seorang anak dengan warna rambut merah dan kulit wajah berbintik (freckles) membuatnya jadi bahan bully, namun ia tak tahu apa yang akan ia alami di masa depan.

1. Culun
Louis Evans yang kini berusia 22 tahun bercerita kepada Mail Online, bahwa di masa kecilnya ia tumbuh besar dengan tekanan lewat celaan hingga bully dari teman-temannya. Hal ini dikarenakan wajahnya yang culun, gigi tonggos, rambut merah hingga wajah yang penuh bintik.

2. Puber
Besar di Lowestoft, kota kecil di Inggris, menjadi 'beda' bisa jadi bencana dan ia sadar benar akan hal itu. Dijuluki si jahe atau si besi berkarat menjadi konsumsi harian untuk kupingnya. Masa pubernya pun memperparah wajah berbintiknya yang berjerawat sehingga membuatnya terlihat seperti orang-orangan sawah.

3. Transformasi
Memasuki umur 20, fisik Louis bertransformasi menjadi tinggi, tulang, garis rahang yang keras serta tulang tengkorak kecil layaknya model catwalk Eropa. Ibunya, Jo McCall yang pernah menjadi pemenang kontes ratu kecantikan menyemangatinya untuk segera bergabung dengan agensi model dan pindah ke London.

4. Profesional
Setelah bergabung dengan agensi model Booking Models di London, iapun mulai bekerja dengan para profesional, salah satunya menjadi model di majalah Vogue Inggris. Ia sendiri merasa dirinya biasa saja, namun banyak orang yang mengatakan bahwa fitur wajahnya terlihat semakin unik berkat rambut merah menyala alaminya dan bintik wajah.

5. Masa Depan
Meskipun tergabung dengan agensi model dan berpotensi untuk sukses, ia menilai jalur modelling pria bukanlah sesuatu yang bisa jadi pemasukan finansial tetap. Saat ini ia tetap mengutamakan pekerjaannya di perusahaan penyedia barang.

6. Ekspansi
Hingga saat ini ia sudah berjalan untuk pekan mode pria London dan prestasi terakhirnya, ia juga dikontrak oleh agensi berbasis di Milan, Italia, Independent Men. Di bulan Juni mendatang bisa dipastikan ia akan sibuk melakukan audisi hingga show di pekan mode pria Milan Fall/Winter 2014.

7. Perbedaan
Setelah beranjak dewasa, ia baru mengetahui bahwa di industri seperti fashion dan modelling, justru memiliki perbedaan dan sesuatu yang unik malah menjadi keuntungan tersendiri. "Di tempat seperti Milan, Spanyol dan Yunani, mereka kagum akan rambut merah dan mendapat tempat yang spesial," ujarnya kepada Mail Online.

Tetap mengedepankan garis rancang yang edgy dengan nuansa hitam untuk lini ready to wearnya, inilah 10 koleksi terbaik dari Tex Saverio di pekan mode Paris, Selasa (25/02/2014).

1. Sweater
Tex Saverio memamerkan koleksi Fall/Winter 2014 dengan menampilkan banyak sweater berpalet gelap. Salah satunya sweater wol berikut, dipadu bersama rok warna kulit yang bertekstur. Sarung tangan kulit dan belt ditambahkan untuk memberi kesan edgy bagi padanan yang kasual dan sederhana. Dengan padu padan ini, kita bisa membayangkan para fashionista menerapkannya untuk fashion street style di musim dingin.

2. Signature Style
Di penampilan perdana Tex Saverio Jakarta tahun lalu, Tex menampilkan detail motif jaring yang khas. Motif itupun kembali hadir di koleksi sweatshirt kali ini, namun dengan teknik printing di atas kain satin mengkilap. Selain memakai bahan-bahan rajut yang hangat, Tex juga berkreasi dengan material kulit yang makin menambah kesan edgy untuk koleksinya. Uniknya, teknik printing yang jadi signature style Tex juga diaplikasikan dalam bahan kulit sebagai cape itu. Rok pensil dengan ornamen resleting emas menjadi paduan sempurna kali ini.

5. Gold
Desainer kelahiran Jakarta tahun 1984 ini hanya mengangkat dua warna untuk koleksi Fall/Winter 2014, yaitu hitam dan emas. Berbeda dengan koleksi sebelumnya yang banyak mengangkat warna-warna metalik seperti hijau, namun tetap didominasi warna hitam. Salah satunya hadir dengan terusan warna emas bersiluet feminin yang dipadu bersama cape beraksen unfinished di bagian bawah, dan bertabur payet yang membuat padanan tampil glamour.

6. Golden Warrior
Kembali warna emas ditampilkan hanya saja yang sekarang terkesan lebih edgy ala ksatria wanita. Terusan seksi dengan kerah halterneck ini tampak dibuat dari bahan lame yang bertekstur. Terdapat aplikasi detail payet hitam yang menghiasi bagian kerah hingga garis pundak. Payet tersebut juga membentuk tanda silang yang membuat tampilan makin dramatis.

7. Laser Cutting
Desainer lulusan sekolah mode Bunka Jakarta itu menampilkan gaun panjang hitam dan emas yang dramatis. Ciri khas dari label kedua ini ditampilkan sebagai motif dengan teknik laser cutting di sepanjang gaun.

8. Chainmail
Tex menampilkan terusan pendek dari chainmail atau ring-ring metal yang disatukan, menambah kesan edgy dan kuat untuk dress ini. Atasan tadi dipadu bersama jaket kulit dengan detail quilted atau jahit tindas yang dihiasi rantai emas di pinggir jahitannya.

9. Long Skirt
